How it works

From one bookshelf to a reading culture

Each club gets books, a trained leader and a reason to keep reading.

  1. 1

    Club launched

EBF sets up a club in a partner school.

  2. 2

    Books delivered

Age-appropriate books, bookshelves and reading logs.

  3. 3

    Leaders trained

Teachers and community volunteers learn to lead sessions.

  4. 4

    Weekly sessions

Students read together every week, all term.

Why reading?

Schools need books to read

Many schools in the Sisaala area lack reading materials, libraries and the extracurricular activities that spark intellectual engagement.
